The Regional Institute for Population Studies (RIPS) of the University of Ghana has organized a five-day residential Training Workshop on Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) for selected staff of the Births and Deaths Registry (BDR) of Ghana. The training came off from November 28, 2016 to December 2, 2016 at the premises of RIPS.

Training participants were District Officers of BDR drawn mainly from the northern divide of the country of the Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Brong Ahafo and Ashanti regions. Knowledge imparted to trainees include the civil registration process; how to use the STATA software to analyze and assess vital statistics and; data use and dissemination.The training forms part of the Multinational Statistical Capacity Building Program for Managing for Development Results, Phase 4.2 Grant, awarded RIPS by the African Development Bank (AfDB).
